WRITE A REVIEW ON LENOVO 3000 N500 LAPTOP

Starting 1992, IBM revolutionized computing with its range of ThinkPad personal computers. Recently from 2005, since Lenovo brought the PC division from IBM, ThinkPad and ThinkCentre – another award winning series, are being manufactured and promoted by Lenovo.

As the world’s fourth largest computer manufacturer, Lenovo has retained and improved upon the range of ThinkPad business laptops. It also has evolved as a manufacturer for small and medium sized businesses. The new Lenovo 3000 N500 is one such wonderful laptop and it has been christened as ‘THE ULTIMATE TOOL FOR YOUR SMALL BUSINESS IDEAS’ by Lenovo.

The Lenovo 3000 N500 notebook is a highly stylish and widescreen laptop combining the popular features at an incredible price. Though its build quality is quite good, it is extremely clunky and lacks style when compared to other successful models, one of them being the Acer Aspire 6930G-583G. The designers who designed the keyboard design on the ThinkPad notebooks have brought out another masterpiece with the N500. Only the Dell Studio 15 betters it in terms of keyboards.

The plastics offer good protection to the N500 and the notebook remains cool enough even when heavy applications are running. This is one good feature that Lenovo has kept in mind. One of the features that Lenovo has not included is the keyboard light and backlight, undoubtedly reserved for its more expensive models.

The 15.4 inch screen is decent enough for the notebook, but there are better ones available in the market for the same price. The 1280×800 resolution is good enough for casual work but entertainment wise it quite lacking in quality. Further the Super-TFT coating on its screen adds to the user’s woes since it keeps on reflecting incessantly in changing light conditions.

The graphics are supported by an Intel GMA 4500M GPU which is an integrated graphics card for general use. Unfortunately for media related tasks this notebook is quite lacking. This also confirms without being said that the attractive OS Windows Vista will struggle to keep up on this system than on other machines.

The fact that Lenovo 3000 N500 is powered by an Intel Dual Core processor also adds to the woeful performance that Lenovo is offering in this model and at that price range. The performance offered is too mediocre as compared to other laptops when compared to the other specifications too. The performance although has not affected the battery life. It runs for a really long 200 minutes which is good compared to other models too.

The 250GB hard disk offers ample space to store for your files and media content. The interfaces are good and it offers Wi-Fi connectivity too. This is good for those who love to access the net on the move.

This notebook’s best feature is its affordability, though it might not be enough to lure people to buy this model. At the same price other notebooks will make the cut above this one for sure.
