WRITE A REVIEW ON ACER ASPIRE ONE LAPTOP
A well-known PC and laptop manufacturer called Acer makes claims that their Aspire One is no laptop. Executives say that it may have the makings to be a laptop but it’s actually called an “Internet device”. Other electronic companies call their laptops “netbook” including the electronic company Intel. It was the Asus Eee PC 701 device that spawned this whole new category of laptops. You can call them laptops , notebooks or netbooks. It’s just the same thing.
Acer Aspire One has all the makings to be a computing market leader even if it is showing up late. Why is it so special? Aspire One is lightweight and certainly eye-catching. It gives its users a solid performance and isn’t very difficult to use. People looking for a good deal can find Acer’s “The One” at very affordable prices.
Acer Aspire One Sleek and Slick Design
Don’t be misled by the dimensions of this laptop. First and foremost, it is thinner than the Eee PC 901. However, its dimensions of 249 by 29 by 170 millimeters framework make the device about 25 millimeters wider than the Eee PC 901. Comparatively, the Eee PC 901 weighs just 1.1 kilograms where as The One weighs in at only 995 grams. One of biggest reasons that its weight is vast differently than other laptops/notebooks is The One has a small lightweight 2200mAh battery. The Eee PC 901 has a battery size of 6600mAh.
When the lid of Acer’s The One is closed, the entire “internet device” is attractive. Why? It has curved edges and a sleek blue finish. If you want it to come in white, all you have to do is ask. This design gives it an adult look to the Eee PC series. To some CNET offices, it’s still not as good looking as the Eee PC 901. However, looks are always in the eye of the beholder and each person may view each notebook/laptop differently.
Acer Aspire One Keyboards
With the chassis being wider than the majority of notebooks out on the market, the keyboard on Acer Aspire One has nearly the same size as a full laptop keyboard. In fact, typing on The One won’t compromise your typing speed. There is a slight drawback on the Acer’s The One. The “enter” key isn’t very big. However, all other keyboard keys are just fine. Unlike many other laptops, the buttons “Ctrl” and “Fn” are correctly done and the “shift” keys are big enough. Another drawback is that the mouse trackpad is shallow and the skinny buttons are on the sides of it. For some people, it’ll take time to get used to this.
Acer Aspire One Features
Ports
A big bonus to Acer Aspire One is that there are three USB slots: the left side has one slot; the right side has two slots. It also has a D-Sub video output slot, an Ethernet port, a mic port and a headphones port. The Acer notebook has a couple of SD card readers, one on each side of the notebook. It’s believed that one SD reader will recognize memory stick cards, MMC and xD, allowing access for removable media. The other SD card reader allows for an SDHC card that can be left into the notebook and used as a semi-permanent storage space.
Operating Systems
Acer Aspire One is like other netbooks you will find on the market in that it has either the Windows XP or Linux software installed.
Linux Models: For those Acer laptops with Linux, the best is the 1.6 gigahertz Intel Atom N270 CPU with 512 megabytes of RAM. With the best comes the worst in storage space with only 16 gigs of NAND flash memory capacity.
Windows XP Models: For Acers with the Windows XP software installed, the same model laptop gets one gigabyte of RAM with an 160-gigabyte hard drive. There is more than enough storage on this computer but it’s more prone to data loss with movable parts on the hard disk.
LCD Display Panels
The Acer’s Aspire One display panel is an 8.9 inches with a 1,024 by 600 pixel screen. There’s also a 1.3 megapixel web cam that comes along with The One should you want to speak with family or friends.
